PDA
Some websites have content that looks nice on a handheld device, or PDA (personal digital assistant), such as a Handspring Visor or a Palm Pilot. Some sites create special pages just so that they will look nice on a handheld device. Often the sites that are used with PDAs are sites that have regularly updating content. By setting your handheld device up to sync with these types of webpages you will always have the current version of the webpage content on your handheld whenever you sync.
Syncing software
You will need to install some software on your desktop and handheld. This software will download URLs that you have specified and sync them to your handheld. There are many programs available, such as AvantGo, Plucker, and iSilo that will sync selected web pages to your PDA. You'll need one of these programs. The links below should get you started.
AvantGo is typically the easiest software to install and work with. To use AvantGo you must do the following. Install the software on your desktop and PDA, create a new user at AvantGo, and create a new Reverend Fun channel using the URLs from the links below. Visit the AvantGo site for more information.
- Avantgo (Create RF channel) (Create B&W RF channel) (my.avantgo.com)
- Plucker (www.plkr.com) (Tour) (Download) (FAQ)
- Isilo (www.isilo.com) (Information) (Download)
Setting up your software
Once your new software is installed and you are familiar with the basics of how to use it you can enter in one of two URLs that present the daily Reverend Fun cartoons in a PDA-friendly format. The URLs are listed below. One is color and one is B/W (usually line art).
